Let me open this month's newsletter with a HUGE thanks to everyone who helped to make this year's BooBash Carnival and the annual Raffle a success.
We knew we were taking a gamble by moving BooBash to Saturday and we were a little nervous before the event, but the turnout was amazing, the kids had a ton of fun, and our volunteers weren't half-dead after it ended so we are very, very happy! Check out the Rosemont Schools PTA Facebook page for pictures and video from the day. We hope you all had as much fun as we did!
Also, if you're out and about in the neighborhood, please take a minute to thank our many wonderful community sponsors: Taco y Vino, bbbop, Lockhart Smoke House, Imagionaire Salon, Pixie Pies, Vera's Bakery, Skin & Body Solutions Spa and The Sunshine Stop.
Congratulations to the students in Ms. Tawil's and Ms. DeNicola's classes - they sold the most raffle tickets at each campus and won a class pizza party.

important dates & reminders
October is here, y'all!October is one of the busiest - and most important - months for Rosemont Schools PTA. This is when our members really have a chance to shine and come through for our school.
The annual Raffle is RSPTA's largest fundraiser for Rosemont. Every year we are able to support our wonderful arts programs, bring in resident actors from Dallas Children's Theater, and help purchase supplies and equipment for our classrooms. Rosemont is so very lucky to be able to provide so much for our students thanks to the generosity of our families.
This year there are a TON of great prizes to win - from $500 in groceries to free pies and fancy haircuts and a Dallas Zoo Membership.
Please help make this year's raffle our most successful yet! Paper tickets will be sent home with students next week, and online tickets can be purchased now through October 26. Click on the image above to purchase your tickets today - and don't forget to share with your friends and family!
A very special thanks to our generous sponsors: Imagionaire Salon, Pixie Pies Bakery and Skin and Body Solutions Day Spa for their generous contributions!
Our annual Rosemont BooBash Carnival is coming up on Saturday, October 27 from 11 am - 3 pm and you will NOT want to miss it this year! We are moving the festivities down to Lower Campus so we can spread out and take advantage of our huge field. We will be offering general admission wristbands that give you access to over 20 "unlimited" games and activities for one low price. Premium games and activities will be available with the purchase of tickets. And the food you guys, the food is going to be AMAZING! Tacos from Taco y Vino, wings and sliders from Lockhart Smokehouse, cookies and brownies from Pixie Pies and cupcakes from Vera's Bakery are just some of the amazing treats that we will have available. We would also like to thank Pepsi for their extremely generous donation, providing all the beverages for our carnival!
Are y'all ready for some live-action Fortnite? If your kids are like ours they are OBSESSED with Fortnite. This year at BooBash we are bringing the action into the "real world" with a special Fortnite area for kids in 3rd grade and older.
Face painting, balloon artists, the ever popular cake walk, the beloved stuffed animal walk, and so much more. And this year we are bringing back the BooBash Costume Contest!
That's right you guys - we're bringing it back! It's been quite a few years since we've had a costume contest during BooBash. This year we want to see your kids in their most creative, most original, most amazing costumes. They don't have to be completely homemade, they just have to be AWESOME!
The contest is open to all from infants through Middle School. You don't have to be a student at Rosemont to enter, so bring your kiddos out to the BooBash - and tell your friends, neighbors and family to enter as well!
Judging will take place at Noon on Saturday, October 27 during BooBash. Children must be entered into the contest by October 19th, and must arrive to the school by 11:30 am completely dressed and ready to be judged. Click on the image above to enter online.
Categories for judging are: 0-18 Months; Pre-schoolers; Kinder - 2nd Grade; 3rd thru 5th Grade; and Middle School.
Please no extreme horror or gory costumes - there will be very young children around and we don't want to traumatize them. All costumes must be "PG" with no suggestive or sexual themes.
Prizes will be awarded to the winner in each category, and judging will be based on creativity, originality and overall appearance. A heartfelt thanks to The Sunshine Shop, Stan & Erica Dorsett, and Abel & Trina Ochoa for the prize donations.
Don't forget that we will be voting to amend our Bylaws and update our Standing Rules at our next PTA Meeting on Thursday, October 11 at 6 PM in the lower campus auditorium.

Trina Ochoa, Presidenta – PTA de Escuelas Rosemont
Hi there! Welcome to another exciting year at Rosemont Schools. We're looking forward to making 18/19 the BEST year yet for our kids and staff, and are very grateful to have the support of so many families helping us achieve our goals!
My name is Trina Ochoa and I'm the President of Rosemont Schools PTA this year. I have served on the board of RSPTA for 5 years, three times as Treasurer and once as VP of Membership. I have a son who "graduated" from Rosemont last year and now attends DESA Middle School in 6th grade, and a son in 3trd grade Dual Language at Rosemont. My family has been a part of Rosemont Schools for 15 years.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite all of our families to consider becoming active in one - or more! - of the parent groups that are active at Rosemont. You can find more information about all of the various groups that are available under the "Other Groups" tab at the top of the page. And I would especially encourage you to become active in RSPTA. We dedicate our time and talents in so many different ways - no matter how much, or how little, time you have available or what your skills, we can always use extra hands.
Take a moment and "like" the RSPTA Facebook page. We regularly post updates and additional information as we receive communications from the school staff.
RSPTA welcomes everyone to the new school year and we can't wait to see how many awesome things await us!
On behalf of the Rosemont Schools PTA I'd like to introduce myself and welcome you all to our amazing school! My name is Melissa Love Tristan and I am going into my second year as President of the PTA. I have a son named Luca who is in Third Grade. Mine is a proud Rosemont Bison family, and we are PROUD TO BE PUBLIC!
Rosemont PTA members pride ourselves on being extremely active on behalf of our school, our staff, our students, and our community. We are the primary source of fundraising for the school, and every cent we raise goes back to the school to help enrich our students' academic careers and help our staff provide the best possible learning environment for our children. Our financial records are open for public review at any time (please contact the Treasurer if you would like to review our books.) We work very hard to ensure that all of our fundraising is done through events for our community or services provided for our families. Our biggest fundraisers annually are our BooBash Carnival and our Raffle. We also sell school supply packs that families may purchase for the upcoming school year, we host two book fairs (Fall and Spring), and we sell Rosemont Bison Spirit gear. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor of the PTA please contact me!
Outside of our fundraising efforts, we also host many school-wide events that are completely free to attend. These include the Holiday Hayride, Father/Daughter Dance, Family Picnic, and Heritage Day. We also partner with our SBDM group to host academic activity nights which include Math Night, Literacy Night and Science Night.
At Rosemont, we place strong emphasis on educating the whole child. Thus, we maintain a strong focus on our fine and performing arts programs. All students at both campuses rotate weekly between Fine Art, Dance, Music, Computer and Gym. We also partner every year with our RECPTA partners and the Dallas Children's Theater to have instructors from Dallas Children's Theater come to our campuses and spend a week with each grade to teach our students the art of stage acting.
I am so excited to see what this year holds in store for our students! Thank you for being a part of our Rosemont family!
Melissa Love Tristan
